Campaign recruit #1984

20 years from now, smart phones look very different due to the proliferation of ambient displays. Apple has announced a new product- a small shiny disc. This on-body device can do everything that a smartphone+watch can do plus read your silent voice (which is a notch below mind reading). But the device does more than what has been advertised and Apple now is (supposedly) collecting user feedback for their new face saving ad campaign.

In this world, people are no longer concerned with privacy (because that battle has already been lost a decade ago). The fight now is for autonomy.

Background to world building:

• Ambient displays- displays are no longer flat. Revolution in interactive materials has allowed displays to be ‘summoned’ anywhere. (Think what wireless technology has done for internet, the same has happened in the world of displays)

• Silent voice- the subliminal vibrations in the throat could be collected in real time to identify vocal commands. The voice assistants of the future no longer need microphones…or even speakers.

• Autonomy- invasion of biodata and thoughts
